DRAGON TURTLE BIO

Brian Lightbody and Tom Asselin have been making music together since the early 2000's,  since randomly bumping into each other in a diner in the pocono's.

Brian was sure he wouldn't be making music again after his band El Topo (with future Man Man and Modest Mouse member Russell Higbee) quit playing. Brian moved to NYC to go to Art School. At the time Tom was at Music school learning how to record.

While visiting his folks, Brian and Tom bumped into each other, caught up and shortly there-after started jamming.

After getting some songs together and playing a handful of shows, Brian and Tom met up with some other like-minded musicians in the Pocono area and started working together with Lou Rogai of Lewis & Clarke to help him launch his record label La Societé Expeditionairé.  Dragon Turtle and the labels first release would be a split 7" with Strand of Oaks.

Dragon Turtle would release another 7" with Eric DeJesus, a split 12" with Goodnight Stars, Goodnight Air and a full length LP "Almanac" with La Societé Expeditionairé.

Brian and Tom took to release their latest LP Distances independently and formed the musical sanctuary Oscillating Color, to house their recordings and collaborations with others outside of Dragon Turtle.
